In a new series of video we discuss and will show methods of gardening "when it counts." The first 3 short videos detail some of the pitfalls and perils to the common survival/preparedness thinking of "when my storage food runs out I'll just grow a garden." Intermixed throughout the first three videos are also invaluable tips on gardening and food production for the homestead, survival retreat or backyard in suburbia. The first step in planning to truly grow your own food is to recognize the factors working AGAINST you, so you can plan accordingly. If your interested in being able to feed yourself from your own labor either now or after an economic collapse, peak oil, etc. then you should view these video. www.survivalreport.net Prepare, preparedness, survival, survivalist, peak oil, economic collapse, war, terrorism Survival Gardening Basics Part 2

@jannonymous Your so right, some one who has went to this extent probably has no plans for defense, nor training, nor manpower, nor weaponry. Here comes the short bus, time to get back on board!

what exactly are we suggesting is going to happen here? if were talking about getting to the point where you have to raise your own food... thats a TOTAL COLLAPSE, in which case there most certainly will not be law enforcement either. Good luck protecting your crops from marauding gangs.

Initially, when beginning to plant a garden, start small and work your way up. Have a small garden plot or do container gardening if you are short on space.

Hi I just received the seeds I bought from: bepreparednow. net They were only $44.99 with free shipping. It has 27 varieties of NON hybrid seeds and it is sealed in a Mylar Bag. It was the best deal I found on the Internet and the variety is great.

Your right man, that was my first year attempt, now that's funny right there! And your videos are where? Oh that's right both accounts of yours show NOTHING. Surely an "expert" like you can SHOW his results on a LARGE SCALE. I'm not interested in how you grew three organic tomatoes for your 8th grade class project. Show me some results on a LARGE SCALE- i.e, enough to feed your family yearly and then you'll have a basis to debate from. Stop being a jerk and I won't delete you. :)

Maybe if you gave real advice instead of stupid insults your comments would be more welcome. Your comments were deleted because you acted like a total jerk in making them. I notice you didn't comment on the videos where I showed the earthworms thriving in soil where commercial fertilizer was used last year. VIDEO PROOF TOO MUCH FOR YOU HUH? I welcome your comments and don't have a problem debating you, just don't be a jerk with your comments huh?

Luckily our ancestors didnt know this guy, they would have all died.... his man erased REAL advice, so he could tell you to use gypsum board in your soil???? please tell me none of you are this insane. I could have told him a completely different way to look at gardening, the best from our ancestors and modern research, instead he mocked me. I guess science hurts his head. He simply doesnt understand, the difference in varieties, and the potential others offer. most gardeners fallinto that trap
MrGrower36 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
your either a liar or just slow. You erased REAL info in favor of your first or second year, attempts???? Is your goal tricking people or truth? because if its truth, you have a twisted way to show it. I spent time to HELP you. I actually was going to send you seeds which you could grow in georgia without trying. literally. so youll fight to grow your food, and I was going to give you seeds of varieties, youd have to fight, so they dont take over your yard. ignorance is bliss I guess

Thank you for these videos!

You mentioned gypsum as a possible soil amendment, I was wondering if you can think of any other items that could add some of the micronutrients. I was thinking zinc, iron, etc. Could you add rusty nails, zinc coated nails or even pennies if you soil is in need of copper?
