Usually it's a combination of all of them, keeping in mind that cranking ISO to the max. comes with "noisy" pictures. My advice, experiment with those settings individually and see what they do to the picture, try taking lots of pictures and also notes of every one of them. Using digital cameras makes things easier since you skip the developing process and you reuse memory cards, so just go out and take lots of pictures. Hope this helps.
