Google 'Jeremy Paxman weather' and the first result is an article he wrote for the Newsnight website. Possibly with tongue in cheek, though perhaps not, he actually says he preferred doing the weather to finance stuff. It's just that his take on it was 'non-patronising'. Amazingly, the weather was swiftly axed and the markets returned because of a viewer poll! Who the hell wanted the boring old market graphs back?

i hate the weather - why does it have to be tacked onto the end of every single news report? worst is bbc news 24 through the night, the weather reports are always interrupting the fun stuff

Great clip, its pretty apt because Clarkson and Paxman have the same deadpan humour.
